Beauty combined with ethics

Jewelry is often a symbol of love, objects that you give as a gift to express your affection for a special person.

However, when I began my career as a goldsmith, I encountered an inner conflict because I did not know the origin of the raw materials I used.

I was concerned about the possibility that the precious metals and stones I used might have been mined and processed in armed conflicts or under conditions of child labor and exploitation.

This situation has led me to look for solutions that can guarantee the ethical origin of my materials.

It seemed contradictory to me to create pieces of jewelry that are supposed to symbolize love, even though their origins could be tainted with raw materials that contradict this noble emotion.

The quality of our jewelry is inextricably linked to the conditions under which the raw materials for our jewelry are obtained.

That's why Emmé by Lola is a Fairmined licensed brand, which guarantees that all of our jewelry is made exclusively from Fairmined gold and silver, sourced from Fairmined-certified traders who, in turn, only work with responsible mining organizations.

This certification guarantees that the gold and silver we use has been mined in harmony with nature, respecting human dignity and promoting sustainable development of nature and people. In this way, we contribute to the socio-economic growth of these mining communities and improve the quality of life of the people who belong to them.

In addition, we use ethical diamonds from Botswana, a country that stands out for its commitment to responsible mining and environmentally friendly mining practices. The natural stones we use also come from ethical small-scale mining and fair trade because they come from conflict-free countries and have traceability certificates.

We use recycled and biodegradable materials for our packaging and promotional flyers and we partner with local businesses and artisans who share our ethical and sustainable values.

Our production takes place in Germany. All jewelry is designed and manufactured in our workshop in Berlin. For the printing and casting of our pieces, we work with the company Kalman Hafner in Pforzheim. Kalman Hafner is also a Fairmined certified company with whom we share our principles of sustainability and traceability of the resources used for our pieces.
